Although no one in my immediate family was musical while I was growing up, I remember having a passion for music as early as age 4. At around age 7, a cousin of mine introduced me to the craft of playing an instrument, and from that moment I was hooked. It then got serious while I was in high school, when I took lessons, learned music theory, and formed a band... and the heavier side of music gripped me and wouldn't let go.
While at university I learned to love (not just appreciate) classical music, with all its depth, nuances, and expressive power--but this genre became an addition, not a replacement. To me, music is the most direct way of conveying emotion--in my opinion, no other art form, whether poetry or any of the visual arts, comes even close.
After graduating, my interests expanded from just being an instrumentalist to also singing, and after trying a variety of stringed instruments, eventually I settled on the electric bass. I work in software security, and on the side I am also a sound engineer for live events. The rest is history... but as in history that is still in the making.
